Terms of Service

Last updated: June 30, 2026. These terms govern your use of the BoroDesk Unified Resident & Board Portal (the “Portal”), which your property-management company (the “Manager”) provides to you.

1. Your account

Access is tied to your unit and role. Keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Roles (resident, board member, staff) determine what you can see and do; the Portal enforces these boundaries.

2. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. By paying through the Portal you authorize the charge to your selected method. Card payments may carry a disclosed processing fee; ACH is offered to minimize fees. Payments post to your building’s general ledger. Failed or reversed payments may incur fees per your lease or house rules. We never store your card or bank numbers.

3. Maintenance, amenities & visitors

Requests, reservations, and visitor pre-authorizations are subject to your building’s rules, capacity limits, fees, and staff approval. Submitting a request does not guarantee a specific outcome or timing. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide, including entry permissions.

4. Governance

Where you are an eligible owner or board member, elections and votes are governed by your building’s bylaws and proprietary lease. The Portal provides tamper-evident, auditable balloting; it does not replace your building’s legal governance requirements. Confirm procedure with counsel.

5. Communications & consent

You control which channels (email, SMS, push) and categories you receive, except legally required notices and emergency broadcasts. Message and data rates may apply to SMS; reply STOP to opt out of a channel. We record your consents.

6. The resident assistant

The assistant provides information about your own account and building policies. Its responses are informational, may be incomplete, and are not legal, financial, or tax advice. It does not move money or cast votes. Confirm anything important with the Manager.

7. Acceptable use

  • Do not attempt to access another unit’s, resident’s, or building’s data.
  • Do not probe, scan, or disrupt the Portal’s security or availability.
  • Do not upload unlawful content or misuse communications features.

8. Availability & changes

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update the Portal and these terms; material changes will be surfaced in the Portal.

9. Disclaimers & liability

The Portal is provided “as is.” Balances and figures are drawn live from the general ledger and are believed accurate, but are informational and not an audited statement. To the extent permitted by law, BoroDesk is not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits rights you have under New York law.
